Eid-El-Fitr: Lagos Council Chairmen Preach Unity, Love, Peaceful Coexistence For Brighter Future

Some Local Government Chairmen in Lagos State have preached unity, love and ensure peaceful coexistence among members of the society to bring brighter future to the country.

Alhaji Ganiyu Egunjobi, the Executive Chairman Agege Local Government in his Eid-el-Fitril Message urged residents to imbibe the spirit love, unity and ensure peaceful coexistence for better society.

“As we mark the end of Ramadan with Eid-el-Fitr celebration, I urge you all to continue with the spirit of Ramadan, and imbibe the doctrines always in our life.

Let us continue to embrace peaceful coexistence, show love to one another and exchange pleasantries to keep us on the right track and steps towards the Almighty Allah.

“On the part of the council, the security agencies and critical stakeholders have always ensured that we enjoy the yuletide season and beyond. This can better be achieved with the collaborative efforts of the residents to always make Agege and its environ safer,” he said.

Princess Abolanle, Bada, the Executive Chairman Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA) said in her message that celebrating Eid-el-Fitr was not just about feasting and festivities.

According to her, it’s a time to reflect on our shared values of compassion, kindness, and generosity.

“May this auspicious occasion bring you closer to your loved ones and strengthen the bonds of friendship and unity in our community.

“Let us cherish our differences, celebrate our similarities, and work together towards a brighter future for all,” she said.

Mr Kolade Alabi, the Executive Chairman Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) also joined millions of Muslim Faithful to celebrate the filtri.

“I urged you all to continue to offer prayers for continued peace and tranquility in our society by extension, especially as the country keeps their hope in the economic reform of President BolaTinubu,” he said.

Mr Abdul-Hamed Salawu, the Executive Chairman Shomolu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) urged the residents to continue the good deeds done during Ramadan period.

“let the good deed continue for the fear of Allah and service to humanity for both Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

“Remember that the Somolu we build today is the heritage and legacy for our later generations to immortalise us.

“Let’s be positive towards governments in all tiers as we strive to place our society on a global stage.

“Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s initiatives are truly propelling Lagos State towards greater heights, attracting international investors with forward-thinking policies and infrastructure development.

“Similarly, President Bola Tinubu is dedicated to rejuvenating the Nigerian economy, bolstering security, and enhancing citizens’ livelihoods in every aspect.

“As we celebrate Eid, let us reflect on the teachings of the Quran, which remind us to continue performing good deeds, guided by our reverence for Allah and our commitment to serving humanity,” he said.

Mrs Adejumoke Sebanjo, the Chairman Apapa Local Government in her message appealed to the residents to embrace the spirit of unity, compassion and generosity.

“Let us embrace the spirit of unity, compassion, and generosity that defines Eid-el-Fitr, and continue to work together towards the improvement of our community.

“Specifically, to our Muslim brothers and sisters, having observed the Ramadan month with sanctity, offering of prayers and supplications, let us not throw away the gains we have made as individuals spiritually, financially, health wise and attitudinal change, let’s continue in that vein for a better us.

“As the chairman of the Port City Council, I am committed to serving you with dedication and integrity. Your well-being and prosperity are my top priorities, and I pledge to continue working tirelessly to ensure that our local government remains a place where everyone can flourish,” she said.

Mr Olufemi Okeowo, the Chairman Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has sued for love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence after Ramadan period.

“I enjoin all Muslims faithful to extend the spiritual benefits of Ramadan, which are love, peace, and justice to their daily living and through this, contribute to the development of the council, the state, and the country.

“It is my prayer that Ramadan’s spiritual lessons and the Holy Prophet’s teachings of piety, love, justice, fairness, equity, peaceful co-existence with others, tolerance, honesty, and dedication to duty will remain with us all for the benefit and greater glory of our dear country,” he added.

Barr Moyosore Ogunlewe, the Chairman Kosofe Local Government also extended warm felicitations to all Muslim Faithful on this Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

“The holy month of Ramadan has once again strengthened our faith, fostered unity, and reminded us of the virtues of compassion, sacrifice, and gratitude.

“As we celebrate Eid, let us remember and continue all the good deeds during Ramadan by striving to be better versions of ourselves, focused on serving our community with dedication and sincerity.

“This Eid marks the culmination of a month-long spiritual journey, where we have purified our souls through fasting, prayers, and good deeds.

“May the blessings of this sacred occasion bring peace, prosperity, and joy to you and your loved ones.

“On this day of festivities, let us also remember those in need and extend a helping hand to them.

“It is through acts of kindness and generosity that we truly embody the spirit of Eid and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood,” he said.(NAN)
