The former Governor Elect of Bayelsa State in the November 2019 elections, His Excellency, Chief David Pereworomini Lyon, has submitted his Intent/Nomination Form for the 2023 Bayelsa State Guber Election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Lyon, the Deputy Director, Contact and Mobilization South South Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council APC-PCC and Chairman Elders Advisory Council, Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, had earlier picked the form at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, Federal Capital of Nigeria, amidst cheers and ovations from the supporters of the party.

Lyon, who radiated confidence, said that he was submitting the form with “profound gratitude and great humility.”

“I just submitted my nomination and intent form to contest the primaries for the governorship election of Bayelsa State under the platform of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I want to use this medium to thank, especially the state and National executives of our party that gave me the privilege to be the party candidate in the 2019 governorship elections, which I won but God knows the best, I wasn’t sworn-in As Governor.

“In the same light I want to thank the good people of Bayelsa State, who voted massively for me in that election also.

“Equally, I want to appreciate everybody that has traveled far and wide to join me in this historic moment.

“Allow me to request our great party, APC to grant me the right of first refusal regarding our party primaries date as outlined by the national headquarters.

“At this particular point, I want to appeal to all Nigerians and well meaning Bayelsans to come out enmasse and vote all our candidates in the 2023 general elections, most especially our Presidential Candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose track records in human capacity development is equal to non contesting for the office of the President. Thank you and God bless you all,” he said.
