David Lyon Expresses Appreciation To Bayelsa Central Senatorial District Campaign Council

Ex-Governor Elect of Bayelsa State and Deputy Director, South South Contact and Mobilization for Tinubu/Shettima’s Presidential Campaign Council, His Excellency, Chief David Lyon, has expressed appreciation to the Campaign Council of the Bayelsa State Central Senatorial District over their preparation for the forthcoming general elections.

Lyon stated this as the All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Train stormed Constituencies III and IV in Southern Ijaw LGA on Tuesday February 13, 2023.

The former Governor-Elect, on behalf of the APC Southern Ijaw LGA Central Campaign Council, chaired by ESV Kesiye Frank-Oputu, appreciated and thanked the Bayelsa State Central Senatorial Campaign Council, ably led by Rt Hon. (Chief) Davidson Werinipre Seibarugu, as Deputy Director Grassroots Engagement and Orientation South South, Tinubu Shettima Presidential Campaign Council APC-PCC.

The entourage briefly stopped over at the palace of the traditional ruler of Ekowe, where they were warmly received by the Ibe Nanaowei of BOMO IBE, His Royal Majesty King Joshua Igbugburu (X) JP, the Bomo IBE Council of Chiefs, and various Amanayou in Constituency III.

They were also received by the Traditional Ruler of Olugbo Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Clifford Mangiri Amananaowei of Olugbo Kingdom, and the council of Chiefs.

Lyon thanked the electorates at Constituencies III and IV Lyon for voting APC in 2019.

“I am confident that you will do it again and again, but keep in mind that today, February 13, 2023, marked exactly three three years since our mandate was stolen by the PDP through the Supreme Court, but we are still looking good.

“You must agree with me that for over 26 years, the PDP-led administration has nothing to show as achievements in the state. Are we still going to vote for them? “No.”

“Let me assure you that with the APC candidates, the path to a better Nigeria and Bayelsa is clear. We must ensure that on February 25, 2023, all votes are cast for the APC, which Presidential Candidate is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and for our candidates for the National Assembly, which include the Senate and the Federal House of Representatives.

“For the Senate, please vote for Chief Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe, and vote for our candidate for the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Preye Influence Oseke,” he said.

Shortly after, the Deputy Director, South South Grassroots Engagement and Orientation, who doubles as the Chairman, Election Monitoring and Planning Committee, and who stood in for the campaign’s Director General, Chief Barr Godknows Powel, stated unequivocally that with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the deal is done and that power must swiftly go to the south.

Barr Timi Woko, the APC candidate for Constituency III and Chief (Dr) Selekaye Victor Ben, the party’s candidate for Constituency IV and Hon. Preye Influence Oseke, member of the Federal House of Representatives and the candidate of the party seeking re-election, stated that with the records that they have given out, there are clear indications that the people of Southern Ijaw LGA, and indeed Bayelsa State generally will vote for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and all the candidates of the APC.

Also speaking, a former Southern Ijaw LGA Chairman, the pioneer Chairman of Bayelsa State APC, who is also the Candidate of Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, Chief Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe supported Hon. Oseke and promised that if they are elected into the National Assembly, there must be team spirit and that the cries of the people of the Niger Delta Region will be properly handled, and that getting 13% derivation from oil revenue for the people of the area will be duly achieved.
