Dariye sentenced to 14 years imprisonment
A federal capital territory (FCT) high court on Tuesday sentenced Joshua Dariye, a former governor of Plateau State to 14 years in prison.
The court found Joshua Dariye guilty of misappropriating N1.16 billion Ecological Fund meant for the state. Justice Banjoko also found Senator Joshua Dariye guilty of criminal breach of trust as regards N250 million issued to Pinnacle Communications emanating from the state’s Ecological Fund.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commision (EFCC) made the announcement on its Twitter handle. The development came three weeks after the conviction of ex-Taraba governor, Jolly Nyame for fraud.
Dariye will serve a two-year and 14-year jail term concurrently.
