Children Day: Avoid Cultism, Run Away From Crimes, Be Good Ambassadors Of Nigeria – Lagos Speaker Advises Nigerian Children
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has advised Nigerian children to avoid cultism and other crimes that can work against their progress in life.
Rt. Hon. Obasa also advised Nigerian children to be good ambassadors of not only their families and communities but also the country at large.
The Lagos Assembly Speaker’s message was contained in a press statement on Sunday greeting Nigerian children on this year’s Children Day celebration. The statement was signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Musbau Rasak.
Rt. Hon. Obasa assured Nigerian children that the All Progressives Congress (APC) at all levels will continue to protect their interest by putting in place programmes and policies that will enhance their welfare and improve their standard of living.
“I want to assure you that the APC government at all levels will continue to put in place policies and programmes that will enhance your welfare and improve your standard of living. We will continue to put in place measures that will enhance your progress in life.
“However, I want to advise you to shun violence. Avoid cultism, runaway from crimes. The only way you can make progress in life is by being good ambassadors of your country and you can only achieve this by exhibiting high moral values all the time,” Rt. Hon. Obasa said.
He stated further that there is also the need for parents to monitor the activities of their children with a view to nipping any desire to go into crime in the bud. “It’s our duty as parents and guardians to monitor the activities of our children all the time. It’s imperative for us to know the friends they keep and hang out with and the groups they associate with,” he said.
“On behalf of my colleagues in the Lagos State House of Assembly, I wish Nigerian children a happy Children Day celebration,” the Lagos Assembly Speaker said.
