Chelsea agree deal with Bundesliga star Baba Rahman
Baba Rahman has agreed a five-year £27,000-a-week deal to join Premier League champions Chelsea, as per reports. The 21 year old defensive superstar was being considered by the Blues as a replacement for Brazilian international Filipe Luis, who is set to return to Atletico Madrid this summer. The Augsburg superstar has been really impressive in recent times, due to which Jose Mourinho was keen on adding him to his current squad.
However, the Bundesliga side have denied claims that they have plans of selling the Ghanian defender, who has also been linked with Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal as well.
The German club’s chairman, Jonas Hoffman recently spoke in an interview and said, “We do not need the Baba millions.”
“We have a good, solid team here.”
“I am very optimistic that Baba will continue his great performances with us.”
However, reports in Italy claim that Chelsea have agreed personal terms with the 21 year old star and are now looking to finalize a fee as well.
Hoffman claims that an offer less than €20m(£14m) will not be even considered, though the west London side might look to offer more as they look to sign their target.
