Celebrating A Friend And Brother @60

on

On behalf of the ’81 Set of Okene Secondary School Old Students Association (OSSOSA) I felicitate with Mr. Ekundayo Asaju and his family as he marks a milestone age of 60 years.

While we recognise his life journey in the last 60 years as not having been bed of roses, we are however grateful to God who has, in His abundance of favour, grace, mercy and guidance moulded Ekundayo into what he has become today- a quintessential professional journalist and elder statesman of great accomplishments.

I have known Ekundayo in the last 47 years when fate brought us together in 1976 as Form One Students of Okene Secondary School. More to his divinely given good characters and the great positive impact the school had on us, Asaju as was popularly called then became a household name among his classmates before we graduated from the school in 1981. Ekundayo comes to mind in his trait as very focused, hardworking and resilient.

He is a strong believer in the pursuit of common good driven by desire to uplift humanity. It is therefore not a surprise to us his classmates reflecting on his enviable roles towards the formation of OSSOSA(National body); OSSOSA (Lagos Chapter) and OSSOSA (’81 Set) which he currently serves as its Chairman.

Over these years, Ekundayo has not only sustained these noble characters, but has transformed into a Leadership Model of hardwork, compassion, humility, patriotism, a believer in God and strong family man.
Our prayer is that as he celebrate this milestone age, God Almighty will sustain him in his good characters, grant him good health, favour him with many more years of greater accomplishments, service to humanity and contribution to nation building.

Have a blessed celebration my quintessential professional journalist and elder statesman.

Yahaya Abdulsalami-owuda
OSS Classmate ’81.
