Buhari, Obasanjo Banter In Addis Ababa
President Buhari and Obasanjo: do they seem to be quarrelling?
President Muhammadu Buhari and his former boss, Olusegun Obasanjo were in the best of convivial and cordial spirit as they bantered in Addis Ababa, where a summit of African leaders is underway.
Former head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, shared in the banter, according to the images posted on President Buhari’s Twitter handle, @MBuhari.
The two leaders even get closer here: Buhari and Obasanjo, with Abdulsalami Abubakar. Sirika, Malami and Geoffrey Onyeama in second row appear to enjoy the Addis drama
In Nigeria, however, supporters of Buhari are at war with supporters of Obasanjo, following the latter’s Press statement, urging President Buhari not to run for re-election in 2019.
Information and Culture minister, Lai Mohammed had responded, saying that Obasanjo’s advice amounted to a distraction, as Buhari is busy, at the moment, trying to get rid of the mess left by 16 years of PDP rule. And that includes eight years of Obasanjo in the saddle.
Well, the elephants at the top appear to have a way of making up, when they fight!
