Breaking: NUJ Elects Alhassan Yahaya As New National President
The immediate past Deputy President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Alhassan Yahaya, has been elected as the National President, while a Deputy Directors with Radio Nigeria, Abimbola Oyetunde, emerged unopposed as Deputy National President.
The two top officials were elected at the 8th Triennial delegates conference of the union held in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
While Yahaya scored 436 votes, his closest challenger, Tunde Atunbi, polled 97 votes.
Like Oyetunde, Muhammad Umar Tukur and Abdulrazak Bello Kaura were returned unopposed as the Vice President and Zonal Secretary for Zone A respectively and Ronke Afebioye from the Ekiti State Council as the Vice President Zone B.
Other national executives were equally returned unopposed.
