Black Sunday as wife stabs husband to death in Ikorodu community

Residents of Ikorodu community, a suburb of Lagos Mainland were thrown into confusion as a woman stabbed her husband identified as Stanley Abora to death in the area today, Sunday, March 18, 2018.

It was gathered that the unidentified woman stabbed her husband using a broken bottle which led to his eventual death.

Prior to his death, the deceased and his wife were involved in a heated argument which generated into a brawl that got the attention of neighbours and residents alike.

In the ensuing fight, the wife picked a broke a bottle before stabbing her husband in the stomach and in order parts of his body.

A resident said that the couple usually have regular arguments but the residents were shocked realizing that the woman had stabbed her husband to death.

“I couldn’t believe the sight. They sometimes have regular arguments which we take as normal between a man and his wife. I was shocked when I saw his lifeless body after he was stabbed during the fight,” the resident said.

“He was unlucky because he had lost blood before anyone could get to him. He was rushed to the Ikorodu General Hospital where he was confirmed dead,” the resident added.

Residents described the late Stanley as an easy going person who spends time watching or playing football when off work.

“I still can’t believe that he is no more,” a resident, Debayo Ogundeji said

“He would either be on the field playing football or watching local games at Barracks Stadium where he is free. Often times, you would find him throwing banters during live European football games as well,” the resident added.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue in the Ikorodu General Hospital with the killer wife presently in Police custody.
