Son of billionaire businensswoman, Hajia Bola Shagaya, Mallam Tolani Muktar Shagaya was one of those elected into the Federal House of Representatives in the February 25, 2023 General Elections.

Muktar Shagaya, who is well loved by his people, was elected under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency in Kwara State.

If you are very conversant with Hajia Bola Shagaya, you would deduce that she is a stickler for success more reason anything she set out to do turns successful.

All her life, she has never ventured into a project that ended in futility. All thanks to God who has always made her an accomplished person as an astute businesswoman, a mother and a wife.

Those close to Hajia averred that one thing she never took with levity apart from business is the upbringing of her children.

Tolani a youthful politician, a man of action with few words, showed bravery and tenacity during the campaign period not leveraging on his mother’s influence politically as he went all out to campaign vigorously in other to win his election with little or no effort from her mother.

Those within the federal constituency disclosed that his respectful nature, cerebral prowess, pedigree, oratory skills and exposure are qualities that attracted him to the electorates who promised to elect him as their representative.

They are more than confident that the Shagaya’s are noble people who love development so his emergence as their representative will bring about rapid development.

We also gathered that Hajia has advised him to ensure all the promises he made during his campaign period he must fulfil.

Those who voted for him must enjoy the dividend of democracy via sponsoring life-changing bills and attracting projects and infrastructural development that will affect the lives of those within his constituency.

“Hajia is not joking because a promise made must be kept, so she openly told him to remain steadfast and remain close to his people so he can feel their pain. Hajia also told him he must also do everything humanly possible not to throw the trust of those who gave him the mandate he must do everything he promised,” said a source.

On his part, Muktar Shagaya promised to fulfill his electoral promises to the people, saying that he had no reason not to perform.

“I have a name to protect and God has been kind to my family. What else do I want. I will offer selfless service to my people. I know what they want, which was why I offered to serve in the green chamber in the first instance.

“Our people deserve the best. They have suffered over the years and this is the time for me to make life better for them. While I would say my mother and indeed my family have been affecting the lives of the people in the area positively, we want to ensure that we attract federal development into the area.

“That is my promise to the people and I will not relent until I achieve my aim. The time to do it is now as there is a lot of hardship in the land,” he said, while cally for the co-operation of the residents of the area so that he could achieve his aims for them.
