Aviation Minister Wins New Telegraph’s Best Minister 2024- Transformative Leadership In Lagos

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, CON, FCIArb (UK), has been conferred with the prestigious Best Minister 2024 – Transformative Leadership award by the management and Board of Editors of New Telegraph Newspapers.
The award ceremony, which took place at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, was attended by eminent personalities from various sectors. The award was presented to the Minister by the former Managing Director of First Bank, Mr. Bisi Onasanya.
These were contained in a statement signed by Mr Tunde Moshood, Special Adviser on Media and Communications to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
Keyamo was honoured alongside distinguished politicians, technocrats, and dignitaries from different walks of life, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the transformation of Nigeria’s aviation sector.
Speaking at the New Telegraph Awards/Dinner Night, Keyamo expressed his gratitude for the recognition, describing the award as a catalyst for greater performance. He reaffirmed his commitment to elevating Nigeria’s aviation industry to a leading hub in Africa, emphasizing that his best achievements are yet to come.
Dedicating the award to his workforce, including agency CEOs, directors, Special Advisers, and Assistants, Keyamo acknowledged their unwavering support in implementing policies and reforms aimed at repositioning the sector for sustainable growth.
Earlier in the evening, the Managing Director of New Telegraph Newspapers, Ayo Aminu, highlighted the publication’s longstanding tradition of promoting excellence. He noted that New Telegraph itself has received several notable awards, including the Diamond Awards for Media Excellence (DAME), underscoring the importance of celebrating individuals who drive progress and innovation.
The event was graced by an array of high-profile guests from the political, corporate, and social spheres.
Among those in attendance were the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart Chief Olabode George, the Managing Director of NNPC, Mele Kyari, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, and several former governors and bank executives. The awards night was a vibrant celebration of leadership, excellence, and service to the nation.
