Aregbesola humiliated in Osun, loses ward to Oyetola, Lasun Yusuf beaten silly, disgraced

Interior minister Rauf Aregbesola has been roundly disgraced in Osun APC governorship as his candidate Moshood Adeoti was beaten by Governor Gboyega Oyetola in Ward 8 Ilesa East LGA.

In the ward, which is Aregbesola’s home base, Adeoti, who he vowed will be the next governor of Osun, could only muster 124 votes.

Oyetola won the ward with 309 votes.

With many ward results pouring in, it is clear Oyetola has built an unassailable lead over his rivals.

Party members, after accreditation, queued facing their candidate of choice. Then the votes are counted, in a voting system known as Option A4.

Just like Aregbesola lost his ward, Lasun Yusuf, former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives also lost his ward 5 in Irepodun LGA.

Lasun had more than Oyetola to contend with, as he shares the same ward with Nasirudeen Babatunde Olateju.

Olateju was Chairman, Irepodun LG in 1999 and now a lawmaker representing Irepodun/Orolu State Constituency in the Osun State House of Assembly.

Witnesses of the Option A4 voting in the ward said Lasun was stunned when just 10 people queued in his row.

In contrast, 323 people stood in Olateju’s row. Olateju was Oyetola’s proxy at the ward.

Adeoti, Aregbesola’s candidate got 62 votes.
