APC Primary: Adelabu Shops For Alternative Party To Realise Guber Ambition

Barely few days after Senator Teslim Folarin emerged the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Adebayo Adelabu, who lost out in the primary, has dumped the party, and declared that he wy contest the governorship race under the platform of another political party.

While debunking the rumour of his movement to the Social Democratic party SDP, Adelabu who described the SDP As an extension of the PDP, said that there were many other political parties that cu be adopted to realise his dream of transforming the state to an enviable position in the country.

First Weekly gathered that Adedibu described the party primary as a charade, hence, his resolve to pitch his tent with another political party, which was yet to be revealed as at the time of filing this report.

The former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), while announcing his defection on Sunday, boasted that he was taking all his supporters across the 33 local governments in Oyo State to the new party

Adelabu explained that he took the decision at an enlarged meeting of his mandate group held at his campaign office in Ibadan, alleging that the delegates at the primary were compromised.

The aggrieved aspirant said that he was already in consultation with some political parties, which would be unveiled as soon as possible, stressing that no amount of intimidation, threat or harassment could stop him from his passionate ambition of revolutionising the political, social and economic landscape of the state.

“All I can tell the whole world for now is that I am going to contest in the 2023 general elections as a governorship candidate, no matter what. No amount of intimidation, threat or harassment can stop me from my passionate ambition of revolutionising the political, social and economic landscape of Oyo State through the machinery of government,” he emphasised.
