APC Party Primary: Dapo Abiodun Promises To Compensate Losers
As the referees blew the final whistle on the just concluded APC primary elections across the states of the federation for next year general elections, the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised that the party will compensate those who lost out in the race.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who has just been re-elected as the party’s flagbearer in the next year governorship election, stated this, while addressing leaders of the party and the teeming members at the presidential lodge in Abeokuta on Sunday May 29 to commemorate his 62nd birthday anniversary.
According to Governor Abiodun, both the losers and the winners have displayed the spirit of sportsmanship, hence the need to accommodate and compensate the losers.
The Governor recalled his experience, while seeking political office and how he contested and lost several elections, adding that in the just concluded APC primaries there were no loseir or winners.
“We had about 188 people, who aspired to go to the House of Assembly, 80 aspirants contested for the House of Representatives and I am not even sure of the number of those, who wanted to go to the senate. Of course, we had those who were serious and we had those who were comedians,” he said.
Speaking further, the Governor said that “to this extent that I have tried in every way to find a consensus around those to be chosen, I ensured that I consulted the party leaders and I can assure you that you will be well taken care of.”
He therefore gave the assurance that his government would continue to prioritise the welfare of the people by ensuring that programmes and policies tally with the people’s needs.
