Anxiety Grips Oyo Parks Management Operatives As Makinde Plans To Unite Warring NURTW Factions

There are strong indications that the power of the Oyo State Parks Management System (PMS) will be reduced with the plan by Governor Seyi Makinde of the state to unite the warring factions of the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW and bring them back into the system.

Sources told First Weekly Magazine that the move is presently creating a palpable fear in the camp of the present leadership of the Park Management System, while some of them were said to have vowed not to allow the plan to succeed.

The competent source however, revealed that the proposed date for the historic merger is the 30th May 2023 adding that governor Seyi Makinde is very serious about the development.

Our source said that the members of the proscribed NURTW are eager over the moves as they were disallowed from operating at motor parks since the beginning of governor Seyi Makinde’s administration.

Those in the know also attributed the new moves to the plea by some elders in the state, while some hinted that it is aimed at checkmating the excesses of the present leadership of the PMS led by Mukaila Lamidi ( Auxiliary).

Some people said that he had turned himself to a “defacto deputy “governor” in the state with many excesses of his subordinates at motor parks.

Our source however l, disclosed that Auxiliary is presently moving from one pillar to the other to stop the plan, but this was said to have been rejected by notable persons in the state.

It would be recalled that the PMS began operations at the inception of the administration of Governor Makinde in 2019.
