Alleged Crude Oil sale: Senator Ifeanyi Ubah arrested in Abuja
The Senator representing Anambra South senatorial zone, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, was on Monday arrested in Abuja by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC.
According to our source, the Senator was arrested on his way to the Force Headquarters Abuja where he was trying to file a formal complaints regarding arrest warrant issued to him on Thursday last week.
Ubah, who was supposed to report to the EFCC office on Friday last week couldn’t go due to the public holiday, so instead of reporting to EFCC office first thing on Monday morning, he chose to visit the Force Headquarters in search of solution.
It was exclusively gathered that on his way to the Force Headquarters, he was arrested by a team of the EFCC operatives led by Durai Abdulahi Umah.
Recall that last week, Ubah was alleged to have indulged in diversion of crude , illegal procurement and unauthorized sales of Federal Government crude stored in his tank farm amounting to over N126bn.
As at the time of filling in this report late on Monday night, not even his lawyers were allowed access to him, while his mobile phones were switched off while under EFCC’s custody
