Aisha Yesufu, co-convener of BringBackOurGirls, BBOG, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to be more proactive in his response to unabated killings by Fulani herdsmen.

The activist also wondered why only governors go to the presidency to present security reports.

According to her, Buhari should also state where people are being killed to get first hand information from victims’ families, relatives and friends.

She wrote on Twitter, “Dear Nigerians, a country where the life of a cow is more important than the life of a citizen is a country that the citizens need to sit down and have a talk. Time for #TheNigeriaTalk.

“What I want him (Buhari) to do is visit every place there is crisis, commiserate and reassure the people, access the situation, talk tough to the security chiefs that they either get the situation checked, apprehend the perpetrators to face the law or get fired!

“There is something inherently wrong with Governors having to go see the President to report insecurities in their State. Can’t the President go to the States?
Can we just have Community police, State police and stop this charade?

“Our security agencies must be reformed and given the required autonomy for their allegiance to be to the Nigerian State and the people and not to the President and the ruling party.

“We must stand for Nigeria. It’s not going to be easy but we would make it better for us and the next generation. Our parents failed us by not doing the needful. We can’t also fail our children?”.

Meanwhile, Senator Joseph Waku, Pro-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Akure, has pointed out those he believes were behind the killings nationwide.
