According to him, Elephant RIA Cup has been on for the past 25 years and this season is going to be our new version of competition.

“As we have been doing for years but this year will be another year of new opportunity of getting players as we scout to assist talented players with exposure by linking them to a better foreign football club.

“And this year League will help the youth, as presently we all know the economic situation of the country,” he said.

The committee chairman also added that the Club also try to create avenue for vendors to come to sell one or two products to support their families.

Annual we have over 200 vendors that come to sell foods, drinks and other items during the matchess with over 2000 football fans and spectators.

The business activities in our community during the match days promote and help traders financially, and vendors make more sales,” he said.

According to him, 2024/2025 league involve 14 teams because a lot of players want to participate unlike other years where we have 10 or 12 teams and we have enough space to contain them all.

Ajanaku added that players should be expecting a lot of benefits as players showcasing there talents.

“Foreign scout will be around with opportunities in terms of gifts and others benefits to players every Sunday matches.

“The League winner will go home with N500,000, and the Second runner up to go home with N300,00,” he said.

He added that the only success story about the grassroots league was the uprightness through out the tournament.

“As an organiser we have been upright in everything we do and assure we are not bias and no familiarity with any team and God has been so good to us.

Though we have faced a lot of challenges ranging from finances which has not been easy with different members contributions,” he added.

The committee chairman urge government and private organisations for sponsorship.(NAN)
