Abdulraheem Gives Out Scholarship Awards In Honour Of APC Ilorin West/Asa Reps Candidate, Shagaya

The Director of Contact and Mobilization of Muktar Shagaya Movement, Alhaji Abdulrauf Abdulraheem (Eshe) has awarded scholarships to 100 secondary school students in Ilorin West Local Governments area of Kwara State in support of Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency in the 2023 General Elections.

The event was held last week at Popo Igbona area in Ilorin, the state capital.

Speaking shortly after the program, Alhaji Abdulrauf Abdulraheem (Eshe), a close ally of Shagaya, said that the gesture was as a result of his promise to give back to his community, while assuring the community that the candidate has the best interests of his people at heart.

According to him; “what is happening here today is birthed from the pledge I made to help my immediate community, because the government cannot meet all our needs.

“To achieve this, I set up a committee to assess our community and they recommended to us where we can help improve to make access to education easier for the less privileged in our community because they are the leaders of tomorrow and it is important they go to school.

“We are hoping to do more because there are still people who don’t have the means to sponsor their children to school.”

Abdulrauf disclosed that the beneficiaries were drawn from the five zones that make up Popo Igbona community, and urged the beneficiaries to see education as an important aspect of life.
The Director General of Sheriff Shagaya Foundation; Alhaji Muftau Akanbi Oke and Special Adviser Political, Kwara Central to Governor AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq; Hon. Abubakar Sai Kayi, in their their remarks, commended Alhaji Abdulrauf for his efforts towards ensuring that the less privileged have access to quality education.

The duo however, advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity given to them, urging them to be good ambassadors of their community.

In attendance were the Director General of Sheriff Shagaya Foundation; Alhaji Muftau Akanbi Oke, S.A Political, Kwara Central to Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq; Hon. Abubakar Sai Kayi, Kwara Commissioner for Business; Ambassador Ibrahim Akaje, Hon. Kale Oloje; Kwarma GM, Kwara APC stalwart; Alhaji Abdulmumeen Tejidini (Aburo Gomina), Popo Igbona Community elder; Alhaji Ahmed SMO, Magajis as well as the parents of the beneficiaries.
