Abacha’s Ex-Minister Accused of Plotting to Ruin Aisha Buhari

Tongues are now wagging in the corridors of power on the activities of one of the special assistants to the wife of the President, Aishat Buhari, Dr. Hajo Sanni, who is her Senior Special Assistant on Administration.

While Aisha Buhari is struggling tooth and nail to carve a respectable image for herself and also support her husband in this turbulent period, she equally has more than enough to contend with, within her office as the wife of the president.

The woman in the eye of the storm, according to several sources, is Hajo Sanni a onetime minister under the late General Sanni Abacha, who the source described in various terms; one even summed the reported mess around this powerful aide as one the Buhari’s family could do without in this period.

“Aisha is kind, good and determined to leave a lasting legacy, but Hajo has a different agenda together in the presidency. The minute she warmed her way into the presidency, she brought in her sister and between them, they started rotating juicy portfolios, we are talking about Zainab Maina,” said our source.

Our source revealed that this manipulative method of the sisters also manifested during the tenure of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan. We have it on good authority that a ministerial office was to be given to Hajo, then but her sister reportedly told Patience  Jonathan that she wouldn’t be able to control Hajo, so she hijacked the office since they were both strong members of the PDP, so Maina was reporting and delivering her budget to Patience monthly, this we learnt caused a rift between the sisters and they were not on talking terms for long.

They are now the people struggling for the attention of Aisha and even calling the shots with or without Aisha’s knowledge in the presidency along with the male cabals.

Hajo was nearly removed last year for tampering with estacodes, unfortunately two guys took the bullet for her, the two guys in the protocol unit, it was after this that rumour started making the rounds that she was caught tampering with Aisha’s forex.

“She acts as if she’s the defector wife of the president and determines, who sees Aisha and who doesn’t, she banned one Barrister Mary Etta, a strong APC woman leader from the villa, also Mariam Yakub who took the fight to her, she had her looked up; she tried to sideline another women leader, Ramatu Tijani Aliu, but that one put her in her place.

“Also when a particular APC woman leader in the South West, who is known to be close to Tinubu tried to see Aisha, Hajo told her she could only see Aisha through her, and it was this same woman, who led other women in Buhari’s campaign in the South West, the woman just ignored her and went back to Lagos. She once took N15m from someone who wanted an appointment with Aisha.

“Again, I can tell you that at the dinner organized not long after the May 27, 2015 swearing in ceremony, Hajo was at the centre of a scandal, which could have been the very first scandal for the government as she was accused of compelling the wives of all APC governors present to contribute money for Aisha,” said a source.

Perhaps the most contentious issue Hajo has to contend with is her supposed role in the break-up of Aisha’s over 20 years relationship with her best friend, Dr. Maralia Zian, who was to be her personal physician, this medical doctor was said to have been flown to Abuja to see her friend, Aisha and made a honest mistake of staying with Hajo, now the relationship is over, they are no more friends.
