Stampede: Makinde Vows To Conduct Comprehensive Investigation Into Ibadan Children’s Funfair Incident
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has declared that whoever is involved in the sad occurrence that led to multiple loss of lives and injuries in Ibadan, the state capital, will be held accountable for their actions.
A statement by Governor Seyi Makinde after the stampede at Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan, confirmed that investigations are currently ongoing, noting that the organisers of the event have been arrested.
Makinde, in the statement shared on his facebook account stated that, “earlier today, an incident occurred at Islamic High School Basorun, the venue of an event organised for families. Sadly, a stampede at the venue has led to multiple loss of lives and injuries.”
The governor however, stated that proper actions will be taken against the organisers of the event, while some people have started saying that the event has a spiritual purpose.
