Breaking: NAFDAC Shuts Down Warehouse, Supermarket Selling Expired Food Products In Abuja
Officials of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered a warehouse in Zone 4, Wuse, Abuja, stocked with large quantities of expired and unregistered food products.
During the operation, NAFDAC officials discovered that the facility was reportedly revalidating expired items to resell them on the market. The raid extended to a supermarket in Wuse 2, Abuja, where products from the warehouse were allegedly being sold to unsuspecting consumers.
Both locations were immediately shut down to allow for further investigation. Among the confiscated items were Cornitos Crusties Nacho, Chaunky Mango, Mother’s Recipe, Nacho Crisp, Paneer Makhani, Palak Paneer, and Dal Tadka. The haul is valued at approximately N87.5 million.
