Soldiers Rescue Captives In Kaduna, Kill Bandits At Point Of Ransom Collection
Soldiers have gunned down two bandits while attempting to collect N1.5 million ransom for four abducted victims at Mai-Iddo village in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State.
It was learnt that the four captives, comprising three females and a child, who were abducted at a farm last week were rescued by the troops.
A community leader from the area confirmed the incident on Tuesday to reporters
He said the two bandits were killed after their leader ordered them to go to a location, where a relation of the abducted victims was expected to drop the ransom
He said, “The arrangements had been concluded with the troops with the man who will be taking the ransom to them and a vigilante. On getting to the particular location, the troops took cover.
‘’As two of the bandits came out to pick the ransom, the troops opened fire at them and killed the two of them instantly.”
He said the abducted victims were rescued by the troops and reunited with their families.
