BREAKING: Prison Inmates On The Run Amid Flooding In Borno
A prison break occurred in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Tuesday, following the collapse of the Alau Dam, which caused severe flooding in the area.
The floodwaters compromised the city’s Custodial facility, breaching security barriers and weakening the structure, enabling an unknown number of inmates to escape.
Authorities warn that the escaped inmates are highly dangerous and potentially armed, posing a significant threat to public safety in a region already vulnerable to insurgency.
A large-scale manhunt is underway, with law enforcement agencies deploying additional resources to recapture the escaped inmates and mitigate potential risks to the community.
