Lagos People’s Assembly Commends Lagosians for Peaceful Conduct During Protest, Praises Gov Sanwo-Olu For Crisis Management Dexterity

A pan Lagos group, Lagos People’s Assembly (LPA) has commended the people of the state for being peaceful and shunning the Day 1 of the end hunger protest in the state.

The LPA equally Eulogized the state Governor, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu for his proactive nature, of engaging in preventive meetings with critical stakeholders in the state and appealing for calm and peaceful conduct during the protest, describing him as a “competent crisis manager.”

LPA in a press release by its Convener, Comrade Gbenga Soloki asserted that it recognized the right of the person’s to peaceful protest, also appealed that having made their points and seen the readiness of the government to listen, the organizers of the protest should halt it and allow the government address their requests.

The group posited that the unfavorable economic situation is not restricted to Nigeria or Lagos alone, but a global issue, which is being resolved by countries with different strategies.

In his words “let me on behalf of the LPA commend Lagosians for heeding our call during the protest to be peaceful. The peaceful conduct of the people and the protesters is commendable, as Lagos is a peaceful state, and the protest occurred without any disturbing incident.”

“We must also salute the doggedness, commitment and proactive nature of the Governor ,who went out of his way to meet critical stakeholders in the state, truly Governor Sanwo-Olu is crisis manager. His engagements actually did the magic and we must not fail to salute his crisis management prowess.”

“While we believe in the right of people to protest, we also know that the issues raised are germane, but it’s important to engage government constructively on the way forward, as demands raised can not be addressed immediately, but must be adequately planned and carefully executed.”

The LPA promised to continue to monitor events as they unfold and give it’s opinion and directive regularly.
