Kano Govt Orders Demolition Of Ado Bayero Palace
The Kano State Government on Thursday night directed the Commissioner of Police to remove the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, from the Nasarawa GRA Mini Palace where he currently resides.
State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Dederi, announced during a press conference that the government has finalized plans for the comprehensive reconstruction and renovation of the property, including the immediate demolition and reconstruction of the deteriorating wall fence.
This decision follows a few hours after the Federal High Court ruled on its substantive suit, upholding the Kano Emirate Council Repeal Law 2024 but invalidating all actions taken by Governor Abba Yusuf subsequent to the law’s passage.
