Margaret Emefiele’s Billion Naira House Near Husband’s Mansion in Texas Revealed
Further investigations of former CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele have revealed a castle bought in his wife’s name in the Texas neighborhood where he has a villa valued at $2,501,000 (N3,713,985,000.00), acquired while he was serving as CBN governor in 2019.
This was uncovered through United States’ records that Mrs. Margaret Dumbiri Emefiele, who the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently declared wanted, bought the villa in Coppell, Texas, valued at $851,740 (N1,264,833,900.00) more than twice above the national median home price of $350,300 in the U.S. The villa is in the neighborhood where her husband bought his N3.7 billion mansion while serving as the CBN Governor.

Godwin Emefiele’s villa in Texas was among the properties that Justice Yellim Bogoro at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi ordered him to forfeit temporarily on May 24, 2024. The 5-bedroom property sits on a 9,810 Sqft space of 4.47 Lot Acres at 100, Cottonwood Coppel Texas Drive, Coppel, Texas.
Mrs. Emefiele’s property occupies an area of 3,643 square feet at 179, Georgian Drive, Coppell, in Texas. It’s a 2-story villa with central full air conditioning, five bedrooms, five baths, one kitchen, spa, and a pool.
Coppell is a city in the northwest corner of Dallas County in the United States with a population of 42,983 people according to the 2020 census. It’s described as one of the best places to live in Texas, offering a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes. It has just 4.79% of black or African American population.
The EFCC recently declared Mrs. Emefiele wanted alongside three suspected associates – Eric Ocheme Odoh, Jonathan Omoile, and Anita Joy Omoile.
They were accused of playing pivotal roles in converting substantial amounts of money belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria. The charges include obtaining money under pretenses, theft, and contravention of Sections 411, 287, and 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.
