The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ogun state has alerted members of the public that its former chairman, Mr Olaposi Sunday Oginni who violated an Abeokuta High Court order, which affirmed his expulsion from the party, is wanted for illegally parading himself as the national secretary of the party.

The party, in a statement on Sunday by the State Public Relations Officer (PRO), Comrade Omokehinde Olayemi Olowu, said that Oginni is wanted for impersonating the office of the national secretary of the party.
Olowu further made reference  to statements from the NNPP Southwest PRO, Kilamuwaye Badmus, who warned the media against giving attention to Oginni, saying that he had been expelled from the party over impersonation.
The PRO recalled that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party on Thursday, April 27, 2023, expelled both Oginni and his Delta State counterpart, Chief Efe Tobor, from the party, with immediate effect .
He said that Oginni’s expulsion was upheld by a court of law.
Consequently, the National Working Committee appointed a Caretaker Committee for Ogun state led by Prince Adekunle Ibrahim as the Chairman.
He said that dissatisfied with thia decision, Oginni filed a suit at the Federal High Court to challenge the authority of the national leaders of the party to expel him.
He said that delivering the judgement on the suit No: FHC/AB/CS/21/2023, where Olaposi Oginni was the plaintiff and  the NNPP was the 1st defendant, NWC of the NNPP as 2nd defendant and the INEC was the 3rd defendant, Hon. Justice Adefunmilola Demi-Ajayi, said that the originating summon is found to be lacking in merit, the objection of the defendants is found to be meritorious and is therefore upheld, the originating summons is therefore dismissed”.
The NNPP PRO warned against providing undue media attention to Oginni, emphasising that his expulsion was legally executed due to violations of party regulations.
Olowu further called on Oginni to address the serious allegations against him before seeking  media attention.
In response to Oginni’s recent petition to the Inspector General of Police, accusing the party’s Governorship Candidate of the party in the last general elections,  Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo of orchestrating his harassment through the police, Olowu dismissed it as baseless.
He argued that Oginni is impersonating the National Secretary’s office and emphasised that General Dipo Olayokun is the legitimate holder of the office.
He said that Oginni refused to honour a recent invitation by the police, saying that he is afraid of his shadow.
“Oginni, why are you running away from honouring the invitation sent to you by the police if you don’t have any suspicious skeletons in your cupboard,” Olowu said in the statement.
According to Olowu, Ambassador Ajadi’s leadership is commendable, adding that the allegations against him were fabricated.
He countered the claim of Oginni that Ajadi was using the police to intimidate NNPP executive.
Olowu emphasised that Prince Ibrahim Adekunle is the authentic chairman of the party in Ogun State.
