The Founder and Spiritual Head of the Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide, Alh. (Professor) Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP and the initiator of the Annual Rasool Cup has pledged to immortalise the pioneer coach of Shafaudeen Patriots, the late Akeem Lawal, popularly called Coach UDI.

This was contained in a release read on behalf of Prof. Olagoke by Alhaji Abdul-Aadi Yusuf during the final match of the 2023/24 Rasool Cup Final held at  Wesley College of Science Football Pitch recently. His absence was to honour late Akeem Lawal who he referred to as one of the best Social Sons.
It was stated in the release titled; “Nigeria Youth And Management Of Fame: Need for Right Guidance For Sustainability,” that the Nigerian youths are doing fine almost in every country in the area of sports, adding that they have even been representing other countries and winning medals.
Prof. Olagoke however, advised parents and guardians to identify whatever talent bestowed on any child and ensure that it is well nurtured for right morals and discipline as the child grows with the talent and develop such into skills for the child to be used for international tournament.
The renowned cleric, who is also the Arole Ogun -Elu of Aare Alasa dynasty however, urged people to develop talents and encouraged them to work for fame through their innate energy that must be managed well.
“I am proud of our stars, proud of myself, and proud of my country being a Nigerian, while in Saudi Arabia, when our national heroes such as Rasheed Yekinni, Finnidi George, Kanu Nwankwo were honoured. Fame builds integrity that does not lead into arrogance.
“Opportunities in life comes very rear. It is very important therefore that whatever chance one has should be guided jealously. Several other talents might not have the stage, hence sport administrators need to work more with parents and guardians of young talents for talent discovery and sustainable fame management.
“On behalf of Shafaudeen in Islam Worldwide, I pay tribute to the tireless record breaking of the efforts of late Akeem Lawal -Coach Udi who started the tournament but by fate could not finish it.
“His name would be immortalised, never to be forgotten by all, Shafaudeen in Islam Worldwide inclusive. He shall therefore be added to our Hall of Fame of Nation Builders in February 3rd 2024 during the grand finale of our 2024 Ishrat at the Shafaudeen International Headquarters, Wakajaye, Ibadan,” he said.
At the end of the 90 minutes, Shafaudeen Patriots defeated Engr. Segun Ojekunle FC.
