Dapo Abiodun, OGD, Mourn Onaolapo Soleye  “He Was a Statesman”-Abiodun  “His Death Created Big Vacuum,” OGD

Following the death of the Owu Abeokuta, Ogun State-born elder statesman and former minister of finance, Dr Onaolapo Soleye, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and a former governor of the state; Senator Gbenga Daniel aka OGD, have condoled with the family of the deceased.

In a statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Lekan Adeniran, Governor Abiodun described the passing of Soleye as a great loss to the state and Nigeria.
The statement added that Dr Soleye’s invaluable contributions to the financial sector of Nigeria and Ogun State will remain forever in the memories of the people of the state.
”Dr Soleye’s remarkable career in public service, spanning several decades, exemplified his unwavering commitment to the development of Nigeria.
As minister of finance, he played  great roles in shaping our nation’s economic policies implementing and fostering sustainable growth.
“His visionary leadership and expertise were instrumental in managing the challenges of our economy,” the statement added.
In his reaction, Senator Gbenga Daniel, representing Ogun East Senatorial District, described Dr Soleye as a man whose  kindness and good deeds greatly impacted a lot of people
“I bear testimony to the fact that Dr Soleye, as a great leader, and mentor, inspired countless individuals.
“As an alumnus of the famous Baptist Boys High School, Abeokuta, he was a great inspiration and mentor to many of us,” he said.
While noting the vacuum created by the demise of the former minister, OGD said; “may I express my deepest condolences to the entire Soleye family, people of Owu Abeokuta and Nigerians generally.”
