Zuckerberg claims Musk not serious about cage match

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta Platforms Inc., has declared that he’s no longer interested in pursuing the widely discussed cage fight with Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla. He accused Musk of not taking the fight seriously, which led him to decide to move on and direct his attention to individuals who are genuinely committed to the sport.

Recently, Musk provided an update on the fight through his X app, mentioning that it would happen at a remarkable location in Italy after holding discussions with the country’s Prime Minister and Minister of Culture. While he didn’t specify the exact date of the cage fight, he reiterated that it would be livestreamed on X and Meta platforms, with proceeds going to veterans.

Zuckerberg, using his newly introduced app called Threads, expressed his preparedness for the fight and suggested August 26 as a potential date. However, Musk didn’t respond to this proposal. Zuckerberg revealed that he’s decided to move past the issue, indicating that Musk should contact him if he’s genuinely interested in organizing an official event.

Zuckerberg emphasized that Elon Musk doesn’t seem serious about the fight and that it’s time to shift focus. He noted that he had proposed a legitimate date for the event, and Dana White had offered to make it a charity competition. However, Musk didn’t confirm a date, later claimed he needed surgery, and then suggested a practice round in Zuckerberg’s backyard. If Musk becomes genuinely committed to a specific date and a proper event, he knows how to reach Zuckerberg. Otherwise, Zuckerberg intends to concentrate on individuals who approach the sport with genuine dedication.

The rivalry between these tech giants became public in July when a user on X revealed Zuckerberg’s plans to launch a platform similar to Musk’s. Meta subsequently launched Threads, a text-based social media platform to compete with X (formerly Twitter), shortly after Musk announced limitations on the number of daily posts users could read on the microblogging app.

Musk’s X responded by threatening legal action against Meta for the alleged misuse of its trade secrets. Musk openly shared his opinions about Zuckerberg and Meta’s new innovation and proposed the cage fight in response to a warning about Zuckerberg’s ju-jitsu skills from another X user.
