Dauseighe Lauds Organising Committee Of 31st Engineering Assembly
A member of Rivers State University’s Petroleum Engineers Alumni (PEA), Engr. Dauseighe Matthew Bowei has commended the President of COREN, Engr. (Prof.) Sadiq Z. Abubakar, and the COREN Vice President, Engr. Olu Ogunduyile as Co-Chairmen of the Main Organizing Committee of the 31st Engineering Assembly.
Bowei stated this, while speaking to newsmen at an interactive session at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Thursday August 9, 2023.
According to Bowei, the pioneers of the engineering profession, the Principal Officers of COREN, recognized the need for Engineering Personnel to regularly congregate and discuss professionally, socialize, and strengthen professional attachment for the development of Engineering and the Nation, and that is why he has chosen to follow suit.
Also speaking at the event, Dr. Kwame Boakye, the Board Chairman of the Engineering Council Ghana, ING, urged all engineers to carry out Engineering Evangelism to help liberate the people of West Africa region and, in fact, Africa at large.
According to him, “we only have brilliant people on our continent, but our collective performance as individuals is quite terrible. The colonial overlords left us some 5 or 6 decades ago, and we are still here.”
Engr. Kwame applauded Engr. Bowei for commending Abubakar and Ogunduyile and expressed delight “that you have decided to join Engineering Evangelism to assist liberate the people of Africa. May the good Lord bless you with strength and fortitude.”
Engr. Bowei also thanked the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, branches in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, for attending the session.
Bowei stressed that he was pleased at the reunion of engineers from across the country, notably those from Rivers and Bayelsa States, particularly Engineers from the Rivers State University Engineering Faculty.
“I wholeheartedly appreciate Engr. Prof. Sadiq Z. Abubakar, Engr. Olu Ogunduyile, Engr. Tasiu Sa’ad Gidari-Wudil, FNSE, President, Nigerian Society of Engineers NSE,” he said.
Bowei then prayed to God to strengthen and keep them till the 32nd Engineering Assembly, which is scheduled for next year.
