Late Alhaji Amuda-Kannike, children, other frontline Ilorin indigenes make history as IEDPU Scribe launches compendium

The eminent late Alhaji Yusuf Amuda Kannike, a business mogul, politician, philanthropist and community leader alongside his two children; Professor Abiodun Amuda-Kannike (SAN), a legal practitioner of repute and Dr. Abubakar Amuda-Kannike, a veterinary surgeon, politician and technocrat are among the frontline Ilorin indigenes to make the list in the compendium that was recently presented to the public at a well-attended event that attracted crème de la crème including politicians and notable captains of industry. The event took place at the Banquet Hall, Ahmadu Bello Way, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The historic book written by the Secretary of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressives Union (IEDPU); Mallam Abubakar Imam titled ‘Ilorin Emirate Frontliners’ chronicled distinguished Ilorin indigenes with remarkable achievements in their respective fields of endeavours and contributions to the state.

The patriarch of Amuda-Kannike family who passed on in 1997 was blessed with many successful children including Alhaji Saka Amuda-Kannike, who retired as a Permanent Secretary in the Kwara State Civil Service; a learned silk, Abiodun famously called ‘Prof’; whilst the Veterinary expert, Abubakar represented the Ilorin East/Ilorin South Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives between 2015 and 2019.

Prof Amuda-Kannike who is the principal in his law firm; ‘Abiodun Amuda-Kannike SAN & Co’ with head office at Port Harcourt in Rivers State, is an erudite writer with close to 60 professionally enthralling and intellectually stimulating articles published in reputable local, national and international journals, and has presented public lecture in various conferences, universities, both private and public universities and received various awards. He was confirmed a Professor of Law by the Pacific Western University and Western Ville University, both in USA.

The erudite professor of law combines the attainment of the pinnacles of his career as a legal practitioner and academic resulting to the compelling demand, invitation by his state to establish, pioneer the faculty of law by appointment as the founding Dean, Faculty of Law, Kwara State University, Malete.
