Eid-el-Kabir: Gbolarumi preaches Love, Peace, Tolerance

Alh. Barr. Hazeem Gbolarumi, former Deputy governor and People’s Democratic Party’s Chieftain in Oyo State has called on all Nigerians to pray for the peace and stability of the country.

Gbolarumi stated this through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Olaniyi Stephen, shortly after the prayers to mark the celebration of Eid-el–Kabir, at the Agodi Praying Ground in Ibadan today Wednesday, 28th of June, 2023.

In his speech, he said: “as we celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, may the peace of Prophet Muhammad be with us all. I urged Nigerians to toe the line of peace for the stability and progress of this Nation.

“May Allah reward our sacrifice abundantly and preserve us all to witness many of this season’s in Years to come“, he said.

The Balogun Adinni of Ibadan also said: “the holy month of Ramadan has gone for year 2023 (hijrah 1440), while today is the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir. We should adhere to the teachings of the month such as tolerance, discipline, compassionate, and act of charity. I pray that we witness more of this on the surface of the earth, our Ibadahs shall be accepted, and our State and country shall witness a good fortune going forward”.

He also expressed concerns with the insecurity in the country, saying: “It is a matter of great concern.”

He appealed to all Muslims to live peacefully and avoid all acts of violence saying “may Allah’s peace and Blessings be upon us in this season”.

He said the country needed peace and unity in all circumstances, peace and stability will enable the country to attain its goal of sustained socio-economic development in all spheres of human endeavours.

He stressed that government alone cannot protect the lives and property of its citizenry without the support of the people, and therefore, call on the good people of the state, irrespective of their differences, to support government’s effort toward ensuring security so as to live in peace, joy, love and happiness.

He challenged all Muslims and the other citizens in Oyo State to avoid hatred, anger and revenge in view of the current national dispensation.

He stressed that Nigerians’ collective faith in God and sustained prayers for peace, unity and progress of the country, remain the ultimate goal for the full realisation of the nation’s founding fathers’ dreams and aspirations.

He wished all Nigerians a peaceful and pleasant celebration.
