April 29, 2023 was another historic moment for Kaduna Polo Club as it marked the date for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Club, which afforded the members of the club the opportunity to review the past year, accounts and expenditure of the Club, and elect members into the Executive Management Committee of the Club.

Alhaji Muhammad Babangida (Garkuwan Yamman Katsina), the patron of the El-Amin Polo Team, who had served previously as the First Vice President of the Club, eventually emerged the President of the Club.

In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Muhammad Babangida commended the energies of the outgone president, Alhaji Suleman Abubakar, describing him as a person of peace and a leader that honours his words.

Babangida further reached out to members assuring them of the continued commitment to improve upon the legacies of Kaduna Polo Club and to improve our polo presence within the Polo fraternity.

He also pleaded for the support of members to accord each other dignity and respect and invariably make the Club a more hospitable and desirable club for its members and the polo family.

Other committee members include Brigadier General Kapeh Kazir as the new First Vice President, Mohammed Baba Askira as the Second Vice President and Atiku Abubakar Saleh (Baraden Maru) as the Tournament Manager.

At the end of the AGM, the club agreed to hold its annual tournament between late October and early November 2023 and plans have already been put in place to make this year a remarkable polo experience for all polo enthusiasts.

“There is a fever going round the polo circles because Kaduna Polo club has just upgraded its polo Pitch 1 which hosts the prestigious Georgian Cup and the anticipation is that this year will see a class of polo never before played in Kaduna.

“Mark your dates,” the President of Kaduna Polo Club said.
