A former Commissioner for Special Duties, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Femi Adekanmbi on Sunday admonished people of the State to pray for the governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, instead of wishing him death.

He said the Governor is very much alive contrary to what naysayers are saying. We all saw him in a video where he was watching a football game yesterday.

Adekanmbi described the rumour as callous, wicked, barbaric and ungodly, urged the good people of the state to pray for the Governor as he is human and can fall sick, not wishing him dead.

“The rumour of the death of the Governor is unnecessary. We should develop the habit of praying for our leaders, and resolute in our prayers for the quick recovery of our governor”

Sincerely, i don’t understand what those behind the wicked rumour stands to gain. it is even against accepted standards of behaviour for people to wish anyone dead, let alone our leaders. All of us are mere mortals who can fall sick at any time.

According to Adekanmbi, the state needs Akeredolu alive in the new government of Tinubu so that the state can benefit immensely from administration. He worked tirelessly for a Southern Presidency to come to fruition and it is rather appalling that people are wishing him death.

“Akeredolu is the hero of Tinubu Presidency and i wish him quick recovery”, he said.

He added that the state should continue to pray for our governor so that we can continue to enjoy political stability, infrastructure, security and economic growth.

“There’s no vacuum in administration as a result of the governor’s absence as the Deputy Governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa is effectively coordinating governance and discharging his responsibilities”, he said.

Adekanmbi said that he’s optimistic that Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would soon return to the State and urged the people to be wary of fifth columnists who are dissatisfied with the achievements of the Akeredolu’s government.
