10th NASS: Allow Ondo produce Deputy Speaker, group notify House of Reps, APC

A socio political group, Ondo Democracy Front has canvassed support of the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to give the position of Deputy Speaker to Ondo State in view of its role in the emergence of Bola Tinubu as President- Elect.

The group equally expressed support for Hon. Timehin Adelegbe who is one of the proud product of the state.

We make bold to say that the lawmaker representing Ose/ Owo Federal Constituency of Ondo State has served meritoriously enough to deserve the position.

The Chairman of the group, Mr Gbenga Asaolu, spoke with newsmen on Sunday in Akure, Ondo State capital said the choice of Adelegbe was based on his intelligence, immense capability and performance as a legislator.

“According to results on IREV portal of Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC), Ondo State posted huge figures for the President Elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. In view of this, we deserve to be rewarded and supported for the position of the 10th Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“Ondo State recorded 369,924 while Ekiti had 201,494. While Osun State, Oyo, Ogun and Lagos have had their fair share of positions at the federal level. Only Ondo is lagging behind. We have been relegated in the scheme of things in the south west. We deserves the position.

“The good people of Ondo demonstrated their love for Adelegbe, in his constituency, and by extension, the good performance of our performing governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu by electing Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

He added that Hon. Adelegbe has the capacity to steer the affairs of the green chambers in the absence of the Speaker. He is eloquent and skilled in public speaking.

The leadership of Ondo Democracy Front unequivocally resolve to support and appeal for Hon. Adelegbe to be elected as the Deputy Speaker, House of Reps, in the 10th Assembly.

“We call on the vast majority of elected Rep members to galvanize their support for him,” he said
