As the much expected 2023 general elections are gathering momentum in Ogun State, a former Governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has made public his choice of Biyi Otegbeye, the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), as the next governor of the state.

Amosun, a serving Senator representing Ogun Central in the upper chamber under the All Progressives Congress (APC), made a dramatic appearance at a well attended rally organized by the ADC to introduce Otegbeye to the electorates in the forthcoming elections.

According to the former governor, “Otegbeye is the only one who can make the Government continue to come to realty for the betterment of the people of Ogun State.”

He urged the people of the state to vote for Otegbeye, who he said hails from Ogun West Senatorial District that has never produced a governor since the creation of the Gateway state in 1976.

He said, “I’m sure you are all surprised with my appearance, don’t be confused, I am here for two reasons; first, I am here to campaign for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria under the APC, and for Biyi Otegbeye as the next Ogun state Governor because it is the right time for Ogun West to produce a Governor for the state.

“Biyi Otegbeye is the right man to continue, where I stopped and that is my second reason for my appearance here, but I am still a member of the APC.”

In his address at the rally, Otegbeye declared his readiness to take over the seat of power in the state and bring back the lost glory of the state.

The rally was attended by supporters of the ADC supporters from the 20 Local government areas of Ogun State as well as members of the APC loyal to Senator Amosun.
