Breaking: Aseyin of Iseyin Joins Ancestors After Long Ailment

A prominent traditional ruler in Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State, the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba (Dr). Abd-Ganiyu Adekunle Salau, Ajinese 1, has passed away, family sources have revealed.

The monarch’s death occurred on Sunday, and it’s the fourth of such occurrences among senior traditional rulers in Oyo State in eight months.

Oba Abdulganiyu Salawudeen died at the University College Hospital, UCH , Ibadan today.

First Weekly Magazine gathered that the monarch had been in a hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State over a critical ailment.

His departure is coming months after that of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Soun of Ogbomoso; Oba Saliu Adetunji, Olubadan of Ibadan; and Alaafin of Oyo,Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, joined their ancestors.

The University of Ibadan-trained veterinary doctor ascended the throne in 2007.

While his remains are being parked for onward journey to his town, a less than one hour journey from the state capital, traditionalists have begun passage rites around the ancient town.

The palace will officially break the story later this evening.
