ASUU strike to end next week as Buhari approves N456Billion
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum of N456billion in response to the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU)
According to sources, the money was approved by the President a while ago.
With the approval, each institution is expected to receive N4.6bn to finalise the 2009 agreement.
ASUU members have been on strike in the past 66 days. Their extended warning strike was scheduled to end tomorrow May 8 when the leadership was to meet again for fresh decision.
With the latest development, the Union is expected to call of the strike anytime next week.
