Folarin Extols 42nd Olubadan On Coronation: “Oba Balogun Is An Unprecedented Ibadan King”

The new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Senator (Dr.) Lekan Balogun has been described as “an unprecedented Ibadan king” who is capable of attracting unprecedented developments to Nigeria’s largest city.

The Ayingun Olubadan and lawmaker representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Teslim Kolawole extolled the virtue of the new Olubadan in his felicitation message made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content stated that Oba Lekan Balogun is an “unprecedented Olubadan” because he is the first accomplished educationist, successful politician, seasoned administrator and well-exposed personality that would ascend the exalted throne.

“On behalf of Baale Royal family and the good people of Oyo Central Senatorial District, I convey our best wishes to Your Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator (Dr.) Lekan Balogun on the auspicious occasion of your coronation as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.”

“Kabiyesi, your peaceful ascension to the throne of your forefathers is divine. I thank the Almighty God for your life. I am confident that you will leverage on your wealth of experience, innovative ideas, honour, dignity and glorious strides to advance the cause of the people of Ibadan, Oyo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria in general.”

“While I am assuring you of my maximum support as your subject, I urge you to religiously preserve the long years of peaceful coexistence in Ibadan, and also focus on attracting legendary developments to Ibadanland.

“I wish to humbly remind Your Imperial Majesty that Ibadan remains one of Nigeria’s most influential cities and plays a key role in the peace, unity and security of the country.

“Therefore, I advise you to work closely with the constituted authorities, Nigerian traditional institutions and other critical stakeholders.

“As we celebrate your ascension to the revered royal throne, I pray your reign brings enormous blessings to the people of Ibadan, Oyo State and indeed the entire nation.

“May God Grant Your Imperial Majesty the grace of long life, good health and increased wisdom to rule Ibadanland peacefully, harmoniously and prosperously. Kabiyesi, ki ade o pe lori, ki bata o pe lese, ki esin oba o jeko pe ooo. Amin,” he concluded in the statement.
