Oyo Motor Dealers Association Expells Two Members Over Ilegal Sales Of ID Cards, Number Plates

Rising from its emergency meeting, the Motor Dealers Association of Nigeria (MODAN) has expelled two of its members over alleged embezzlement and acting contrary to the constitution of the Association.

Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Sulaimon Musibau and Acting Secretary, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Adewale, disclosed in a release they jointly signed that the two members, Alhaji Mutiu Adebayo, who is a former Interim Zonal Chairman, Iwo-Road/Idi-Ape Zone and Mr. Elijah Wale Omo-Adigun, 2nd State PRO were expelled for illegal issuance of the association ‘s identity cards and number plates over which they collected millions of naira.

According to the Association, “following the State Executive Working Committee meeting held today, Friday, 4th March, 2022 at the State Secretariat Headquarters, New Garage, Akala Express Way, Ibadan, the two officers are hereby expelled from the association (MODAN) with immediate effect due to the anti-association activities.”

The association therefore, warned members of the public not to transact business with Alhaji Mutiu Adebayo and Mr. Elijah Wale Omo-Adigun on behalf of the Association.

“The public is hereby warned not to business with them on behalf of the Association, MODAN as from now. Whoever does, do so at his/her own risk,” the statement reads.

Some of the members in attendance included the Association’s Adviser, Elder Segun Oke-Owo, Acting Treasurer, Alhaji Akeem Azeez, PRO, Alhaji Akeem Obinna, Chairman Disciplinary Committee, Alhaji Alhaji Sulaimon Agarau, and Chairman, Oke-Ado Zone, Chief Bosun Tugboboh.

Other were Alhaji Adebayo Sowobi, Hon. Olakunle Akintola, Pastor James Adedeji, Alhaji Oyebode Aliu, Pastor Kola Ajisekola, Muhammed Adeleke, Chief Sunday Adetunji and Mr. Remi Adewale.

The Chairman of the Association, Alhaji Sulaimon Musibau, therefore, enjoined members to continue with their lawful business.
