NDLEA destroys 255 hectares of cannabis farms in Ondo

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has destroyed a total of 255 hectares of cannabis farms in Ondo state. 

Femi Babafemi, NDLEA spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.

Babafemi said 13 persons were also arrested in different operations that led to the discovery of the cannabis farms across five LGAs in the state.

According to him, the operatives discovered the farms in Omolowo/Powerline, Ipele, Ala, Ogbese, Utte and Okuluse forest after embarking on a seven-day operation in the state.

He also said the exercise, codenamed operation Abub, began at Ogbese forest on February 15 and lasted till February 21.

Babafemi also said Buba Marwa, NDLEA chairman, commended the efforts of the officers of the agency and urged them not to relent in their efforts to expose drug traffickers in the country.
