Yahaya Bello Swears-In New CJ, President Customary Court
The Kogi State Governor in North Central Nigeria, Yayaha Bello has sworn-in Justice Richard Olorunfemi and Isiaka Momoh-Jimoh as the State Chief Judge and President, Customary Court of Appeal respectively.
The swearing in ceremony which was witnessed by top government officials and legal luminaries took place in Lokoja, the state capital.
The Governor, represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja charged them to ensure enhanced speedy dispensation of Justice in the State.
“Strict adherence to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria must guide their official conduct as the State Government is committed to maintaining a harmonious environment for the judiciary to thrive,” he said.
Governor Bello who described the Jurists as experienced in the administration of Justice, advised them to dispense justice with the fear of God.
Kogi State Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General, Sani Muhammad said the State Government followed due process in the appointment of Judicial officers, noting that Judiciary has been given great recognition in the country.
Responding, the Chief Judge, Justice Richard Olorunfemi expressed gratitude to God and Governor Yahaya Bello for the appointment and pledged to perform their duties without fear or favour.
