Exclusive: Why Oba AKAMO Conferred Chieftaincy Title On Facebook Celebrity, ABIKE JAGABAN + Her Many Scandals
- Her Romance With A Top Yoruba King
- Itori Indigenes Query And Rubbish Monarch’s Decision
Barely a month after Basirat Tolulope Adeoye Olowogaba (aka Abike Jagaban), the controversial Facebook celebrity, was conferred with a chieftaincy title by Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, the Olu of Itori, Egbaland in Ogun State, fresh facts have emerged on how she came about getting the title.
It will be recalled that on December 23, 2020, Abike Jagaban bagged the honourary chieftaincy title of Bewaji Okin of Itoriland.
This gesture, as displayed by Oba Akamo, was perceived to be un-honourable, by many indigenes of Itoriland and beyond.
This is because the honouree, Abike Jagaban is said to be undeserving of the title, as she is regarded as one of the most scandalous personalities on social media.
Most prominent personalities in Itoriland have become vociferous in their criticism of Oba Akamo’s decision to confer a title on a personality, who is not only a non-indigene of the town, but “one with unsavoury antecedents, no tangible source of income and no record of achievement in life.”
Also, some close watchers of Abike’s activities on social media in the last six years, have been dragging and making a mockery of her “latest acquisition”. This group of people have been outlining several reasons she is undeserving of a chieftaincy title.
However, First Weekly Magazine exclusively gathered that Abike got the chieftaincy title on account of her alleged love affair with a first class monarch in Yorubaland. This Oba is said to be from Osun State, and he has been allegedly embroiled in one controversy after the other ever since he ascended the highly revered throne.
Close sources disclosed that Oba Akamo was literarily boxed into a tight corner in conferring the chieftaincy title on Abike.
The first class Yoruba monarch was reported to have prevailed on Olu of Itori to confer the title on his alleged love, Abike.
According to insiders, the Osun monarch was forced to take this route when the pleas and intense lobbying from Abike to be made a chief in his domain became unbearable.
The Osun monarch was said to have lamented that should he allow lust for a woman get the better part of him, and bestow a title on Abike, his action would raise a dust which he would be unable to contain. Thus, he was said to have reached out to his friend and ally, Oba Akamo to help him out.
Consequently, Oba Akamo, who was said to have a profound love and respect for the first class Yoruba monarch, acquiesced to his request and went ahead to confer the title on Abike on December 23, 2020.
Before her alleged love affair with the first class Yoruba monarch, Abike had been linked with a popular NURTW chieftain, and more notably, a famous Fuji musician.
It was after this Fuji czar reportedly dumped her that she, tactically, wormed her way into the Yoruba monarch’s heart.
So desperate has Abike become in being the main alleged love interest of this Yoruba monarch that she has sought out his closest female ally, Toyin K, and become her errand girl.
Abike Jagaban shot into social infamy in 2015, after she slandered and tagged her former best friend, Jibike Tanni Olaribigbe as an adulterer.
In a series of voice notes, which went viral, Abike had revealed that the child which Jibike, (who had a delay which spanned almost ten years before she became a mother), birthed belonged to another man, and not her husband. This scandal stirred a volcanic reaction from Nigerians around the world, with many of them placing curses on Abike.
Furious by the buffet of curses and ill-wishes that attended her vicious revelation, Abike came out and made a video, in which she made dirtier expose and abused those who supported her friends.
Before long, she got entangled with Esther Tokunbo Aboderin (aka Esabod), another Facebook celebrity, whose notoriety as a social media tyrant precedes her, in a fierce battle for supremacy on Facebook.
These two ladies created what has come to be known as the “Facebook Fracas” on social media. And through so many of their unwholesome activities on Facebook, Abike Jagaban and Esabod, with their respective gangs – Aiye Team and Ewe Team, bully, fight and blackmailed themselves and other people on social media.
In 2018, Abike Jagaban and Esabod had a free for all at Stratford Train Station in London. The two women and their gangs fought dirty with torn clothes in an open field. It was a show of shame which made many people to cringe with disgust.
Also, a couple of years back, Abike and her gang had reportedly gatecrashed a party in London. Their mission? To beat up Esabod, who was in attendance at the party. Needless to say that Abike’s action and the subsequent melee brought the party to an abrupt end.
Interestingly too, more than two occasions, Abike had been alleged to have sponsored attacks on Esabod at her home in Dublin, Ireland, during which her cars and home were vandalized.
On more than one occasion also, Esabod, who is known to spin bogus lies and hyperbolic claims with little or no effort, revealed that she had been stopped for questioning by immigration officials at the point of entry into the United States and Canada, because Abike and her gang had written scathing petitions to these countries, in which they profiled her (Esabod) as a terrorist.
Meanwhile, for over one year, Abike Jagaban’s critics, ably led by Esabod, have been dragging her for embezzling the money she raised for Bukola Iyabo Oshadare, a Yoruba movie makeup artist, who died in November 2019.
It was gathered that, Abike, after raising some money for Shadare to treat her breast cancer, refused to release the fund, which ran into almost £25,000 (N15 million).
Surprisingly, shortly after Shadare’s death, Abike moved into a new apartment in London and opened a shop in Ojota area in Lagos, where she sells ladies’ wears.
