Okowa’s aide arrested in assassination bid charge
Detectives from Force Headquarters, Abuja have arrested an aide to Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on charges of an assassination attempt.
The suspect, Sunday Okoro Ukwejemifor is alleged to be complicit in the attempted murder of one Sunny Nwakego, a Sapele businessman.
We gathered that Ukwejemifor, Special Assistant on Security to Governor Okowa has been on the police watch list since 2009 for alleged involvement in the kidnapping, arson, unresolved murders and armed robbery.
He was arrested with six others.
It was alleged Ukwejemifor hired five persons from Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, to kill the businessman.
Police spokeswoman DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the suspects’ arrest.
