“I am from Niger Delta, but I was not consulted before the interim management committee was put in place. I spoke in my private capacity that two or more people about to be appointed are not suitable, but the government still went ahead and appoint them. And that’s the result we are getting now.”

Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption, Prof Itse Sagay, has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to make a clean sweep of all the people involved in the allegation of corrupt practices in the NDDC.

Sagay made this assertion on Tuesday while speaking on a current affairs program monitored in Lagos.

He said the President should as a matter of urgency make a clean sweep of all the people involved and appoint new board to pilot the affairs of the intervening agency.

Sagay maintains that the forensic audit could continue with the full board being in place.

“You can do forensic auditing with normal board. There should be a clean sweep.

“I am from Niger Delta, but I was not consulted before the interim management committee was put in place. I spoke in my private capacity that two or more people about to be appointed are not suitable, but the government still went ahead and appoint them. And that’s the result we are getting now.” He said.

Sagay said,  “We heard of tons of billions been stolen every now and then. And the unfortunate thing is that it’s the Niger Deltans punishing the Niger Deltans.
