Buhari gets new chief security officer
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Aliyu Abubakar Musa, as his Chief Personal Security Officer (CPSO).
Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement issued on Monday, said Musa’s appointment followed the redeployment of his predecessor, Commissioner of Police (CP) Abdulkarim Dauda.
DCP Musa, from Nigerian Police Force Zone 5, Benin City, as his last station, hails from Niger State.
CP Dauda was redeployed few days after the scuffle between the First Lady, Aisha Buhari and the President’s private secretary, Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf which led to shooting inside the Presidential villa.
Mrs Buhari had reportedly confronted Yusuf, who is a son to Buhari’s niece for not going on self-isolation after he returned from Lagos. The first lady’s encounter with Yusuf was said to have gone out of hand after the involvement of security personnel who shot into the air thrice.
The incident led to the withdrawal of security aides attached to Mrs Aisha Buhari while the President also ordered a probe into the incident.
