Chairman of the Forum of Senior Special Assistants on Security, Hon. Taufiq Isa has denied the rumour going round that he was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force in connection with the robbery attack at the Isanlu, Kogi State branch of First Bank on Thursday June 4, 2020.

Isa stressed in a press statement dated June 18th, 2020, which he personally signed, that “it was just brought to my notice on an ongoing rumour by one Adejoh Hamza that I was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters in connection with the deadly Isanlu robbery attack some weeks back.

“I want to state categorically that I was not arrested and I did not supply arms and ammunition to any one or group.”

Isa pointed out that the Nigerian Police Force, in collaboration with the Kogi State Government, was working tirelessly to apprehend the suspects, and that no amount of blackmailing will withdraw the strength of the government and police force from fishing out the criminals.

He then urged his supporters, well wishers and the general public to remain calm, disregard such rumours, which he said was “an imaginary and calculated thinking of mischief makers who are hell bent in bringing me down.”

“While this allegation may have been on some social media platforms, it is totally untrue.

“The writer is a pathological liar who is an enemy of Okunland.

“The Executive Governor of Kogi State has given a directive to the Senior Special Assistants on Security from Kogi West Senatorial District to fish out the perpetrators, and with the cooperation of the security agencies, we are on top of the situation,” the statement read.
